Composition of Board of Directors
Ø      3 year term limits with possibility of being elected for second term
Ø      12-15 members holding staggered terms
Ø       60% need to be affected or formerly affected by poverty (75% of 60% must be affected now)
Committees

(Each board member will be asked to sit on one subcommittee.  Frequency and duration of meetings will be discussed within each committee)

Board of Director's Responsibilities
v      Be an active member (including attending meetings and participating in subcommittees)
v      Support the goals and mission of the organization
v      Keep people focused on WIT’s mission
v      Participate in grassroots fundraising and grant writing
v      Recruit new members to WIT
v      Assess and monitor programs and resources
v      Enhance the organization’s public image
v      Support Executive Board (once in place)
v      Assess performance of staff

v      Serve as a court of appeals in a subcommittee

v     Have fun and enjoy the work
